I would highly recommend Cathy to anyone looking to improve his or her diet – and subsequent overall health. As a novice triathlete who “ate right”, I was surprised and frustrated when I gained significant weight after increasing the intensity of my training sessions. In two meetings, Cathy diagnosed my nutritional requirements; built a plan specific to my triathlon training schedule; addressed my tastes and needs; and offered invaluable tips as to how I should manage my nutritional needs year-round. By following her plan closely, I lost the unwanted weight, slept better and experienced a personal best during that season’s triathlons. I had tried for years to do on my own what Cathy did in 3 hours. Thank you! ~ Kate, 32

Cathy rocks! I went to her for nutritional counseling to better prepare myself for my annual Chicago Marathon run. I felt I hadn't been getting the nutrition I needed to train properly because my energy was inconsistent and I always ended up getting sick a couple of weeks after the marathon. Cathy educated me, reorganized my eating regimes, and got me going on some vitamins. As a result, for the first time, I got through the marathon training with consistent energy - and I did NOT get sick afterward! Most importantly, Cathy took me seriously and never made me feel self conscious about being a middle aged athlete. I have no reservation in recommending her to anyone who needs nutritional guidance! ~ Lesley, 53

I first went to see Cathy in on March 30, 2006. For reference, I am 5'7" tall. My body fat was 26.3%, weight 144.6, triglycerides, 82; Cholesterol 221, HDL 75, LDL, 130. These numbers truly upset me. I was an avid marathon runner, who worked out between one and three
hours a day. I ate almost nothing, but was gaining weight! I truly was at the point of a psychological break down. I just couldn't understand how I could work out so hard, eat so little, and still be gaining weight. At 40 years old, I knew I had to do something fast.

After meeting with Cathy, she suggested some truly radical changes.  She wanted me to work out less and eat MORE. MORE!? "I'm sorry, but I can't do that" was my reply. I was truly terrified of gaining any more weight. My goal has always been to be 135-140 lbs. I couldn't
eat more and lose weight, could I? Cathy had a detailed plan of what I need to eat, how often, and which vitamins to include. She told me I would gain weight initially because my body needed food so badly, it would hold on to it for fear of another "famine". She told me this was why I was slowly gaining weight. When I ate, my body stored the
food for the times it would be without.

I was skeptical to say the least. However, a friend of mine had worked with Cathy and told me to trust her. Yes, I did gain a few pounds initially. However, by June 27 my body fat had dropped 3% to 23.2% with my total weight at 140.8. In addition, my blood work came
back with triglycerides 38 (44 point drop!), cholesterol 180 (41 points down), HDL 76, LDL (1 point up), 96 (34 points down). An added bonus, I have more energy that I ever dreamed possible. I LOVE it!

One other note, I qualified for Boston this year. It was my 3rd time to qualify, but this time, I did it by the greater margin than ever before. Turning 40 worked out to be a pretty darn good thing! ~ Tamara, 40
